Writing tutor training

Would you like to delve deeper into academic writing?

Do you have initial experience with academic writing, very good knowledge of German and possibly other languages?
Would you like to expand your methodological and consulting skills?
Are you studying at least four more semesters at one of our cooperating universities/colleges?
Are you looking for a fulfilling part-time job after your training that will also open doors for you after your studies?

What we expect from you:

• Interest in reading and academic writing
• Willingness to self-reflect on your own writing and consulting activities
• Social and intercultural competence and the desire to expand these
• Willingness to complete all modules of the training
• Regular participation in face-to-face meetings
• Submission of a training journal in written form at the end of the training
• Willingness to work in the writing center.

The training is divided into 5 modules:
Module 1: Reflection on your own writing actions
Component 2: Scientific writing and scientific style
Module 3: Basics of writing advice
Module 4: Text feedback and writing in the second and foreign language
Module 5: Practical phase / observation in writing advice and first own consultations / observation at our writing events (e.g. writing week)

You can have some of these modules recognized after attending certain workshops. The workshops are marked accordingly. You can complete modules 3 and 5 while you are already employed by us. Interest? Then write to us schreibberatung@stw.berlin.
