"CO/UT" von Jasmin Veeh
Aus dem Gedichtband „Darling, I’m Leaving“
I’ve learnt not to start a verse with “it” but
It is very humbling when a mountain starts talking to you
He tells me that he is not bothered by our small rules
As he is the giant looking upon us
Being called the garden of gods
And he intends to behave that way
Some tiny humans are stumbling around between his toes
He never minds as long as they listen to the choir
Of the trees growing on the odd places all over his body
They sing he is just like us
But with a little more
Dignity
He listens but laughs when I read him a poem I wrote:
“IT
It it
It it it it
It it it it it it it it it it
It it it it it it it it it it it it it it
It it fuck the rules it it
It it it sometimes it it it
It it it it it it it it it it
It it it it
It”,
And then tells me that he thinks it’s lovely
But I should stop taking everything so seriously
After a while of listening there you’ll see.
Human laws or physics’ rules or the way time works
Are mere observations
And their song will make you fantasize about
How a monumental mountain life would be
If that was a thing your tiny mind could even comprehend
