4. Where can I find barrier-free living space?

The studierendenWERK BERLIN offers barrier-free living space for students.
The apartments are characterized by appropriate facilities, such as wheelchair-accessible kitchen equipment, light-signal system, guidance system for the blind, step-free access or an additional assistance room.

Students with a severe disability (from GdB 50) are given priority for a place in a hall of residence. If you have a chronic illness but do not have a severely disabled person's pass, in individual cases you may be considered for preferential allocation of accommodation in the halls of residence of studierendenWERK BERLIN.

Please contact the Barrier-free Studying Advisory Service and describe your individual needs. A direct connection between the need for accommodation and the impairment is decisive for a preferential allocation of places and must be proven by a specialist medical certificate.
In the case of a successful examination of a preference, we will issue a favorable statement to the InfoCenter Wohnen.

Note

This is not a guarantee of prompt provision of accommodation, but the application will be given priority if accommodation is available. The preferential allocation of housing only applies to the initial supply!
