How to choose a degree programme.

If you want to study at a university, there are many options for you. Here are a few tips to help you find the right one for you:

Information portals on the internet:

Following websites are providing up-to-date information on study and doctoral opportunities at state and state-recognised German universities:

In the search engines, you can limit your search to specific places, such as Berlin. However, you can also search Germany-wide.

Tips for use:

  1. If you use a search engine, please note whether the university is listed as private or state-owned. Private universities may charge high tuition fees (>500 euros per month).
  2. Different universities have different requirements. If you do not meet the requirements for a university, find out about offers at other universities.
  3. The more flexible you are to study in a place other than Berlin, the better your chances of getting a place.
  4. If you are interested in a particular university or University of Applied Sciences, check the university's website for interesting programmes for you.

You can find an overview of all English-language degree programmes at Berlin universities here.

Please note: State universities offer many more Master's programmes in English than Bachelor's programmes. Therefore, if you choose a private university, pay attention to the tuition fees!
