Leonard Bertram / Phinifilms

Filmworkshop - film shooting

Videos are playing an increasingly important role these days, whether professionally, as advertising, for YouTube or TikTok. Do you like making videos/films yourself or have you always wanted to try it out? Come to our film workshop!

3-day workshop with Leonard Bertram

The two-part film workshop is aimed at anyone interested in learning the basics of film production, from shooting planning to film technology, shooting sequences and post-production. The result of the entire workshop is a short video project created by the participant or in a group. The first part focuses on ‘shooting’ and forms the basis for your own project. The following topics will be covered using an introduction, exercises and lots of practical work:

  • Topics such as script & story, camera, light & sound, process and role allocation of a film shoot
  • Developing a script, shooting schedule, storyboard and shot list
  • Setting up the scenery, preparing the participants, camera and sound
  • Your own video shoot

Please bring your own camera or mobile phone for filming, as well as a laptop or similar for editing!

  • Date: Friday, 28 February - Sunday, 02 March 2025, 10 - 4:30 pm each day
  • Location: FREIRAUM in the student house
  • We recommend attending the second workshop on ‘Postproduction’ afterwards, in which the material captured here will be edited.

The event is unfortunately only accessible via a staircase at the moment; there is no elevator access.

A binding registration for the course is only possible for students of our partner universities.

The workshop will be led by Leonard Bertram. He has owned his own company PHINIFILMS for services in the film segment and event technology for several years. He is also studying for a master's degree in electrical engineering at the TU. He has been giving film workshops at StudierendenWERK Berlin since 2019.
