FLINTA* Empowerment: Self-defence workshop

You've always wanted to learn strategies and techniques of self-defence and haven't found a safe space?

How do I stand and move safely? What do I need to consider in dangerous/fearful situations regarding the perception of my surroundings? What role does my ability to react play? How do I behave as an eyewitness in a threatening situation?

The focus of the self-defence workshop is to get to know your own strength and ability to defend yourself and to tackle the fear of typical confrontational situations together. In addition, you will learn to assess your own limits and to set your own pace. The course covers selected basics from the field of martial arts and self-defence.

Come to our FLINTA* self-defence workshop with coaches Franziska and Valerie!

We work in a trauma-sensitive way and from a positional perspective - that means we share our (previous) knowledge, are aware of our own (non-)experiences and try to create an empowering space within the trainings in which each individual person can deal with the issue of violence/boundary crossing(s) at their own pace and in their own way.

Franziska Herms:

FLINTA* stands for women, lesbians, intersexual, non-binary, trans and agender people - i.e. for all those who are discriminated against because of their gender identity. Find out more here. With the FLINTA* empowerment series we want to offer a place of exchange and a safer space. All people who feel this speaks to them are welcome! It is also important for us to point out that you cannot see someone's gender. We in particular encourage TIN persons to participate in our events or to lead them as speakers.

If you are coming to the event in a wheelchair or have limited mobility, please send an email to kultur@stw.berlin before the event or call us at +49 171 7936994. Access is not always barrier-free, as our elevator unfortunately breaks down regularly.
