HIV testing and counseling on sexually transmitted infections

Sexual health, i.e. topics such as sexually transmitted infections and contraception, are often a taboo subject in our society. At the same time, sexually transmitted infections such as HIV, syphilis or chlamydia are sometimes initially asymptomatic and are often overlooked and thus transmitted. Knowing how to avoid or treat infections is an important part of our health and should not be avoided out of shame.

In cooperation with the Center for Sexual Health and Family Planning, the studierendenWERK BERLIN offers anonymous and free advice on HIV and STIs (sexually transmitted infections), individual transmission probabilities and prevention options.

From 11 a.m., staff from the Zentrum für sexuelle Gesundheit und Familienplanung will have a stand in the foyer of the TU Mensa. At the stand you will find a wide range of information on contraception and safer sex as well as information on the possibility of cost coverage for contraception in the state of Berlin.

At the registration desk (room 0.26 in the administration building), appointments for counseling on HIV and sexually transmitted infections and/or anonymous testing for HIV on site (blood test/laboratory test) can be made from 1 p.m.

The consultations and tests take place from 1 - 5:30 p.m.

The offer is given on a “first come, first served” basis. If you want to rule out the possibility of having been infected, you should get tested at the earliest six weeks after the last risk situation (e.g. unprotected penetrative sex, sharing needles, injecting equipment).
