Actors wanted!

We are looking for students who would like to participate in a theater project that will be performed on September 26, 27 and 28, 2024 in the theater hall “Freiraum” of the StudierendenWERK Berlin. Students in Berlin who would like to perform or participate in some other way are invited.

Dates / rehearsals:
From August 26 to August 30, 2024, rehearsals will take place from 10 a.m to 5 pm.
The last rehearsal phase until the performances will be all day from September 16 to September 25.
The performances will take place on September 26, 27 and 28, 2024 at 7 p.m.

A theater evening in two parts is planned: 

“How terribly our powers are dwindling!” - Texts by Daniil Charms in Beckett's Square
The piece “Square 1 and 2” by Samuel Beckett, a strict choreography, is combined with texts by the Russian poet Daniil Charms (1905 - 1942), partly poetry, partly dialogs, partly short mini-stories.

“Don't interrupt me, I'll keep quiet!”
The mini-dramas “Resurrection” and “Heavenly Bodies” by Vladimir Kazakov, the poet in the tadition of Khlebnikov and Daniil Kharms, are performed on three levels of the stage, interrupted by onomatopoeic verses by Anna Akhmatova, whose players move around in the field of a ruined city. An object play at the center of the play with masks and life-size puppets.

The rediscovery of Russian poets is also a tribute to the dissidents of the Putin regime, hundreds of whom are in prison.
