Opening – Hyper-Incubation
Young Berlin Artists 2023 – Parallel to Gallery Weekend
Someone's place is found. The found objects were collected, sorted and archived, their location mapped and recorded for us. Simon Gilmer, Annika Horn, and Josef Schneble boldly claim to be researchers, and in the viewer who looks, the found place emerges again. Who lives in the incubatory nest that someone has built to escape an outside? What can be found there, where someone has set up to better satisfy his own needs? The nest is cozy and pure: Maximum security for a meager heart, the quasi-incubator equipped with clean rituals and optimal comfort.
The exhibition space houses the archive of this simulacrum research. At the same time, it holds a treacherous revelation: something is wrong with it, something has been added to its architecture that turns it itself into an incubator, and its visitors into inhabitants of an illusion.
Artists: Josef Schneble, Annika Horn, Simon Gilmer
Parallel to "Hyper-Incubation", the vernissage of "Unfolding Traces" will take place in the underground car park.
