Opening for the Exhibition "Alien(n)ation/RAPTUS"

"For this year's Gallery Weekend, the Kunstraum Potsdamer Str. will be showing a double exhibition titled „Alien(n)ation/RAPTUS – Young Berlin Artists 2022" featuring two curatorial concepts that can both interlock and operate independently.

The Alien(n)ation exhibition focuses on the different kinds of alienation caused by human repositioning to conform to the background of a non-human, increasingly uncertain "nature." RAPTUS, conversely, negotiates through the broad spectrum of its drastic effects on individuals.

While RAPTUS seeks to grab, kidnap and trigger the recipients on a sensual level, Alien(n)ation invites people to pause in their search and relocation, and to question traditional human perspectives.

The juxtaposition between the diverse artistic techniques and narratives, and the range of the audience's modes and tempos of understanding, is intended to create a field of tension in which viewers are constantly urged to reorient and sharpen their perspectives for the long term."
