FLINTA* Empowerment: Self-empowerment through dance

Start of the weekly Semester course. Strengthen your resources through dance and movement

While studying, we face many challenges and the patriarchy makes everyday life even more difficult for us FLINTA*. The struggle greets you every day - you need both strength and balance. In this series of workshops, you will learn to strengthen your resources through dance and movement.

What we do:

  • We focus our attention on our bodies with various movement activities: What do I need today? How does my body want to move?
  • We try out movements and dance: What feels good? What might be unfamiliar?
  • We deal with various topics: Our own strength, taking up space, setting boundaries, grounding ourselves again, feeling lightness and much more.

How we do this:

  • Without pressure to perform and without predetermined choreographies, no previous knowledge necessary
  • All movements and all emotions are welcome here
  • We dance, reflect on our experiences and share with each other
  • We have fun and can also be silly

Setting boundaries is important: if we don't like an exercise, don't want to share something or don't feel good at the moment, this is also welcome.

We can do this for ourselves:

  • Train our body awareness
  • Learn to utilise the connection between body and mental state
  • Get to know our bodies, movements and dance as resources
  • Share experiences with other people
  • Strengthen ourselves and each other

On a total of 12 dates: 28 Oct - 16 Dec (7 dates), 13 Jan - 10 Feb (5 dates) from 12-13:30 each day

Please note: There will be no workshop on 25 November.

FLINTA* ONLY, especially queer, trans*, inter* and non-binary people are welcome!

  • Tabeo (no pronouns/ they) is white, non-binary and queer.
  • We want to create a safer space in which we can meet and support each other with our diverse human experiences, marginalisations and privileges in an appreciative way.
  • The course will be held in German spoken language. The room is not accessible at ground level or via a lift.
  • This course should be as accessible as possible: Feel free to email us if you have any questions or requests at flintanz@proton.me. We can work together to make this course even more inclusive.

About the event series: FLINTA* stands for women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans and agender people - in other words, for all those who are discriminated against because of their gender identity. Find out more here. With the FLINTA* empowerment series, we want to offer a place for exchange and a safer space. All people who feel they belong are welcome! It is also important for us to point out that you can't tell anyone's gender by looking at them. We particularly encourage TIN people to take part in our events or to lead them as speakers.
