Students on the Administrative Board

The Administrative Board is a kind of supervisory body for studierendenWERK BERLIN.

So what is the Administrative Board?

The Administrative Board is a kind of supervisory body for studierendenWERK BERLIN. All the studierendenWERK’s core concerns are discussed here, and central issues such as economic plans are decided. Unlike the self-administrative academic bodies of universities, students at state-recognised universities carry real voting weight in the Administrative Board. This is important, and it is how things should be, because the studierendenWERK is there to look after the concerns of students. In addition to us seven students, a total of 7 other representatives from the studierendenWERK, universities and the Berlin senate are represented on the Administrative Board.

How are the students elected to the Board?

All student representatives are elected to the committee via a quota. This committee is composed of two students – one male and one female – from each member university. Each individual student parliament (StuPa for short) delegates these members to the committee. If you are interested in this work, please contact your StuPa or get in touch with us directly.

What can we do for you?

You could almost say that we on the Administrative Board are your voice, because we are chosen by your student parliaments. Even if we collect all sorts of information and complaints, we can’t speak for all of you because we know do not know you or your specific problems.

You can reach us at verwstud@stw.berlin. If necessary, we can also arrange personal appointments.
