Elisabeth Pape

FULLY BOOKED: Klassenreisen / Class trips [in German]

How our origins shape our lives. Weekly workshop with Elisabeth Pape.

Those who have not dared to write or speak about their origins have the space to do so here. The exchange creates a space that empowers the students and shows them that they are not alone with their experiences. The target group of the workshop are students whose parents do not have an academic background, students from working-class families and students who have grown up in relative poverty. A final reading will take place between at 24 or 25 June at Café c.t.

Important! This is not a creative writing workshop! The space is there to meet yourself, to deal with social imprints and to create a safe space within a fixed group.

Elisabeth Pape, born in 1995, daughter of a Ukrainian immigrant, studied theatre and literature at the Freie Universität Berlin and then scenic writing at the Berlin Universität der Künste. She was awarded the Kleist Preis 2023 and received the Leonhard Frank Scholarship 2023, which is awarded by the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg. Her plays have premiered at the Staatstheater Augsburg, Theater Koblenz and Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, among others. Her debut novel Halbe Portion will be published by Suhrkamp Verlag in October 2025. It is a very personal story about eating disorders, growing up in poverty and the constraints that come with it.

Important: Elisabeth Pape is not a trained writing therapist, but has completed training in counselling for children and young people, is an author herself and dedicates many of her texts to mental health. Nevertheless, she mainly brings impulses from writing therapy with her.
